About Me

Hi, I'm Kat!

I'm a former dancer who had to hang up my pointe shoes due to mental and physical ill health. Now, around a decade later, I'm managing my health, teaching dance and striving to get back 'en pointe'. I'm hoping this blog will allow me to share my experiences and start breaking down some barriers of coming back to dance and mental health within the dancing community.

I'm also a self-confessed Japanophile. My passion for Japan started when I was a tiny teenager and has grown and grown since then. I've been lucky enough to visit Japan and try to incorporate Japanese pop culture and traditional culture into my everyday life. I also love South Korea, from the food to the music, the traditions and language. I teach K-pop dance classes as a way to incorporate my love of Korea and dance!

Apart from that, I'm a mum of two furbabies (one Pom, one kitty) who I'm sure will be making many appearances throughout the blog. I love to drink chai lattes, make cakes and go on long walks with my little Pom. I'm pretty shy really so this blog is a way for me to share the things I love, share my journey and hopefully help others where I can.

Thanks for reading.
